At the latest Reliance Industries’ Limited AGM, Mukesh Ambani has made an array of announcements which will change the telecom sector forever. From Jio GigaFiber to Jio GigaTV to the second generation Jio Phone 2, the latest RIL AGM was loaded with surprises.
Reliance Jio recently crossed 200 million subscribers, the highest any telecom company has done in the world in such a short span of period. The company announced its future plans on how it will expand in the future.
Reliance JioPhone 2 – 10 Must Know Things
Launched by Mukesh Ambani, the latest smart feature phone is an upgrade over India’s current leading feature phone Jio Phone, the second-generation Jio Phone 2.
1. Both JioPhone & JioPhone 2 Will Be Available Side By Side
The new Jio Phone 2 will not replace the original JioPhone. Both the first generation Jio Phone and second generation Jio Phone 2 will be available side by side in the market. You can choose which Jio Phone you want to buy according to your requirements.
2. Available From August 15
The new JioPhone 2 will not be available as of now. The new smart feature phone will be available from August 15, at a cost of Rs 2,999. Unlike Jio Phone, the newly-launched JioPhone 2 is not an effectively free device.
3. Get JioPhone 2 At Rs 501
You can get a latest Jio Phone 2 at an effective cost of Rs 501 only. As a part of the Monsoon Hungama offer, you can exchange your existing feature phone for a brand new Reliance JioPhone 2 at just Rs 501.
4. Pre-BundledWith Premium Jio Apps
JioPhone 2 will come with pre-bundled premium Jio apps like JioCinema, JioMusic and JioTV. Apart from entertainment, Jio Phone 2 will also come with apps like JioMessaging, JioMoney, JioExpress and JioVideocall. The smart feature phone will have a dedicated app store called JioStore.
5. Dual-SIM Support
Unlike Jio Phone, the Jio Phone 2 will come with dual-SIM support. Jio Phone cannot be used with any other SIM, and probably JioPhone 2 will also have a similar setup where SIM 1 or the primary SIM will be locked to be used with a Jio SIM only.
6. QWERTY Keyboard
JioPhone 2 has a new shape where the smartphone will come with a QWERTY design like the signature Blackberry smartphones from the last decade. Though it will the same 2.4 inch screen sized into a horizontal position, making it easy for users to browse content and navigate.
7. Support For Panic Button
The new Jio Phone 2 will come with a panic button on the QWERTY keyboard. If pressed, the panic button will send messages to concerned person in case of an emergency.
8. Front & Rear Imaging Sensors
The new Jio Phone 2 will sport both front and rear imaging sensors. JioPhone 2 has a 2MP sensor at the back and a VGA sensor up front. The rear camera will couple with an LED flashlight.
9. Support For 22 Indian Languages
JioPhone 2 will come with support for 22 Indian languages, making it easy for rural users and buyers. Primarily targeted at the rural user base, the support for different regional languages will act as a perk for the JioPhone 2.
10. Upto 14 Hours of Talktime
Jio Phone 2 will sport a 2,000mAh battery unit under the hood. The Reliance Jio smart feature phone will support up to 14 hours of talk time, and can easily for over a day on a single full charge.

Nokia 8810 4G Will Get WhatsApp Support As Well
Soon after Reliance Jio announced that its JioPhone will be getting the latest update that will support WhatsApp, HMD Global too teased with WhatsApp support on 8810. The famous Banana phone from Matrix, the Nokia 8810 4G also runs KaiOS software.
The latest KaiOS will bring support for WhatsApp and YouTube on these smart feature phones like Nokia 8810 4G, JioPhone and JioPhone 2.
Even though the Device support dual sims you people wont be able to make calls with 2nd sim you will only be able to receive calls and not to make calls!!!!!!
