Airtel Targets Idea-Vodafone Users
India’s largest telecom company Airtel is on the verge of reporting its first loss in fifteen years. As a part of its plans to fight it out with Jio on a large scale, it is now targeting the users that Idea and Vodafone may lose in their merger process.
Vodafone and Idea have completed all the official procedures and are on the final step to merge as a single entity. Airtel will be pumping in Rs 24,000 crore this year to offer more aggressive tariff plans with more incentives and discounts.
As per the reports, several subscribers of Vodafone and Idea Cellular may leave the respective companies as they integrate operations. Airtel is planning to leverage this and add these users to garner additional RMS (Revenue Market Share).
As Airtel is getting ready for a full-on war with Jio, the company is planning to bring in more aggressive pricing offers, incentives for distributors and retailers and huge discounts for customers. Airtel has a huge campaign lined up for the next six months with high decibel marketing and CapEx infusions.
