Airtel had recently revised their 149 plan to offer 1.4GB data daily, compared to 1GB per day previously. But yesterday, Jio announced their Republic Day plans which now offer 1.5 GB daily data at reduced rates.
The telecom pricing war is very much on and plans will keep getting cheaper, with even more data and benefits. Airtel and Jio both have revised their plans, and now are offering more data at lower prices.

Airtel’s Revised Prepaid Plans
The Airtel prepaid packs will come with unlimited local and STD calls with unlimited incoming and outgoing roaming calls. Users also get 100 local and national SMS per day. All the plans will now offer 1.4GB of high-speed 4G data per day.
The Rs. 199/- plan has a validity of 28 days, Rs. 448/- plan has a validity of 82 days and the Rs. 509/- plan comes with a validity of 90 days.
Airtel also revised its Rs. 149/- plan which will now offer unlimited calls to all networks (local, STD and roaming). It will come bundled with 1GB 3G/4G data and offer 100 local/national SMS per day for 28 days. But it seems that this plan is valid only in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana circles.
Plans Compared – Airtel vs. Jio
The revamped plans from Airtel will now offer more data, and the new Jio Republic plans offer similar benefits. The Airtel plans are live now, and the new Jio plans will come into effect from 26th January.

The Rs. 149/- Jio plan will offer 1.5GB of high-speed 4G data daily for a period of 28 days with unlimited local, STD and roaming calls. Users will also get 100 free local and national SMS per day.
In comparison, the Rs. 149/- Airtel plan will offer 1GB of high-speed 3G/4G data daily for 28 days with unlimited local, STD and roaming calls. There will also be 100 free local and national SMS per day. But as of now, this plan is only valid in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana circles.
