OnePlus 5T Launching Globally On November 16! 5 Things We Expect…

OnePlus has confirmed that they will launch their latest flagship OnePlus 5T on November 16 in New York. The Chinese smartphone maker has been teasing the OnePlus 5T for a long time now. Several details of the same have been leaked multiple times online.

The upcoming OnePlus 5T will carry over most of the specifications from it’s predecessor, the OnePlus 5. But, it will see some upgrades to the design design and display.

Going by the previous experience of the OnePlus 3T launch, here is a list of changes we expect in the new smartphone.

OnePlus 5T: 5 Things We Expect

Bezel-less Display

Following the recent trend, OnePlus 5T will get a display upgrade and sport extended display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The OnePlus 5T is expected to feature a 6 inch Optic AMOLED full HD+ display with 1080 x 2160 pixels. This is an upgrade over the OnePlus 5’s 5.5 inch full HD display with regular 16:9 aspect ratio.

Better Camera

OnePlus 5 already has one of the best cameras among the flagships. Along with the display, the primary dual-cameras will also see an upgrade. The OnePlus 5T will ship with an improved dual rear camera setup, featuring two 20MP primary cameras, instead of the 20 MP + 16 MP rear camera setup on OnePlus 5.

Same Hardware

The internals are expected to remain the same as the OnePlus 5. The upcoming OnePlus 5T will sport the same octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset with two RAM variants, 6GB and 8GB. It will be available in two storage options of 64GB and 128GB with the same 16MP front facing shooter. Except for the form factor, the smartphone specifications will remain the same, with minor changes.

Better Battery

As with the display and rear cameras, the OnePlus 5T will get a battery upgrade as well. With its Dash Charge, the 5T will pack a 3450mAh battery. It is minor upgrade over the 3300mAh battery on OnePlus 5.

Software Upgrade

According to the leaks, OnePlus 5T is expected to run Android Oreo 8.0 out of the box. But, with OxygenOS is still on Android 7.1.1 Nougat, chances of a OnePlus 5T running Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box are very low.

Are Oppo R11S And OnePlus 5T Similar In Design?

Oppo and OnePlus are owned by the same company, BBK Electronics. So it won’t be a surprise if they are using the same body for both the smartphones. The 5T is expected to sport a design similar to the recently launched Oppo R11S. According to Phandroid, with a slightly thicker body.

It is not long before we find out the truth.

India Launch And Price

OnePlus 5T has been priced at CNY 4,000 for the 8GB variant (around Rs. 39,000). There will be two variants, 6GB + 64GB and 8GB + 128GB. In India the smartphones are expected to cost between Rs. 40,000/- and Rs. 45,000/-.

In India, OnePlus fans can watch the launch, live at PVR Chanakyapuri, on November 16th at 21:30 IST. Apart from Delhi, fans can also watch the live launch at select PVR theatres across Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Pune. To attend the event, OnePlus fans can book the tickets at Rs. 99/- on Bookmyshow, starting 8^th November,10:00 am onwards.

The 5T will go on Early Access sale on 21st November at 16.30 IST on Amazon.in and oneplusstore.in. The smartphone will also be available through all sales channels in the country soon after.
