WhatsApp’s New Pin feature Will Allows You to Pin 3 Favorite Users on Screen!
In a move to simplify its User Interface, WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new feature to make chatting more convenient and lucid. The new tweak to the application will allow users to plug the favourite conversations at the top of the chat tabs. First spotted by Android Police, the feature is under testing phase and is expected to roll out soon.
The feature is most likely available for the following two versions of the application – 2.17.162 or 2.17.163.
Here’s how to use the feature:
- Make sure you have the Beta version of the WhatsApp messenger; if you don’t then you can register yourself here, or you can download the APK file from APK Mirror.
- After downloading and running the beta application, select the individuals/ group chat you want to pin to the top, and chose the Pin symbol from the top bar, which is just adjacent to Delete, Mute and Archive.
- After pinning a chat, check your Chats page, where you will find the pinned individual/ groups.
- If you receive messages from other individuals then the notification of new message will follow after the pinned chats.
The new update also gives you toggle to switch your pin users or unpin them whenever you want to, by simply long pressing the option and disabling the pin button.
Other rollouts
The Facebook-owned Instant messaging platform is on fire these days, as the updates keep floating in, with some of them providing more stability to the app. From features such as iPhone’s Siri reading your messages when you’re driving or busy to changing your existing mobile phone number without hassles.
The overhauling process is necessary as some of the updates were much required. Now the application is also looking to incorporate the ‘rescind’ feature, which will allow users to delete sent messages before the other individual reads them.
Pin the updates’
The year 2017 has witnessed a lot of updates from WhatsApp which primarily is due to the existing competition turning up from other platforms like Facebook, Snapchat and Instagram. The pin update, however, seems to be fresh and would make the User Interface better. Recently Instagram and Facebook also revamped their structures by providing similar features such as Stories to its users, which generated a lot of mixed reactions.
If you like the new feature, please feel free to comment and express.
