Clicking Selfies with front camera is arguably one of the most used features in smartphones, especially by the younger generation. Having a good front camera is definitely something that consumers look at while making their smartphone purchases.
Gionee, the smartphone brand which is know to bring smartphones targeted at specific audiences has now launched Gionee S6s in India targeted at audiences who love to click selfies. The newly launched Smartphone has 8 megapixel front camera that sports dual (LED & Screen) flash that promises to offer great selfies even in low light and darker environments.
Even though S6s is dubbed as Selfie lover’s smartphone, it does shine in others aspects as well. Let us look at other features of this phone.
Gionee S6s Features
The full metal body phone sports a 5.5-inch full HD IPS Display that is powered by MTK6753 64bit Octa-core 1.3GHz CPU. The phone comes with decent 3GB RAM and 32GB Storage, which can be further expanded to 128 GB with external MicroSD card.
The S6s, available Mocha Gold and Latte Gold color looks and feels a premium phone with its slim and stylish design – what adds to over all looks is also the curved 2.5D water-drop Corning Gorilla Glass that comes with native damage resistance.
As far as the camera goes, the pixel size of the front camera sensor is 1.4?m which enables to catch more light in the low-light conditions and makes the picture much brighter. It is backed by a 13 MP rear camera with SONY IMX258 Sensor.
The Gionee S6s supports both 4G and VoLTE, which makes it future ready. For example, you can use JIO Sim on this phone and start making VoLTE HD calls natively.
As far as the OS goes, the phone offers you latest Amigo 3.2 based on Android Marshmallow. On the review unit that we got, we did encounter some bloat wares, however, they could be easily uninstalled or removed from the phone.
In the initial tests that we found the screen to bright and crisp and had good viewing angles from the side. We were also quite impressed with the audio which was quite loud, but without any distortion.
The phone comes with decent 3150 mAh battery that should easily last you through the day with moderate usage.
Apart from this, S6s does sport some nifty software features like Video Editor with themed and professional edits, Gallery Trash with helps you relocate and restore deleted photos in the Trash within 7 days, Gallery Hiding management, Desktop management, Image + (Face beauty, Real time filter, beauty editor), Video beautification, Time lapse, Text Reorganization and macro quality pictures.

At Rs. 17,999/- Gionee S6s might be slightly on the higher side for a mid-range phone, but if you are looking at some stunning pictures, especially selfies, you should give it a serious look.
