Google Search Now Offers English & Hindi Result Pages Tabs
The big information giant Google now enables Indians to search for information easily switching between English and Hindi. One could easily type in their searches in Hindi and obtain information in English and Hindi. This makes it even easier to search on Google and the results are targeted, whether you desire it in Hindi or English.
Launching this new feature on Google Search for Mobile, this feature can be availed in states wherein the language is most spoken like Bihar, Chattisgarh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Delhi and West Bengal. Interestingly, state of Uttar Pradesh, which houses the most Hindi speaking population cannot avail this feature as yet.
This feature has been launched in the above states for all mobile users and Google assures to improve on the same to make the results are more reliable. For example, when you type ‘Samachar’ into the Google search bar, the results would appear in two tabs wherein you can choose for results in English or Hindi.
The new feature will be available on all browsers like iOS, Android devices but just not yet on UCBrowser and Opera Mini.
This new feature enables you to even search other queries like Hindi movies, birthdays, destinations and just about anything under the sun. Google search recognizes your input query language and gives you the options to select in which language you would like to view the results.
It’s as good as talking to Google in Hindi and it will answer in the language of your choice. We could type in “Dhoni ka janam din kab hain” and Google will answer in English and Hindi. This is definitely very beneficial to all users who would like indigenous information in Hindi.
Indic Keyboard Launch
The ever increasing Indian population of smartphone users are leaving behind the users logging into the internet through Laptops, desktop computers and tablets. Noticing this trend, Google also launched it’s first multi lingual keyboard software called Indic Keyboard software on the Play store. This keyboard app is compatible with Android Ice Cream Sandwich and other latest versions and allows the user to type using their desired languages. The languages that have been offered in this are Hindi, Bangla, Punjabi, Assamese, Oriya, Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
The number of android device users has been seeing the upward wave for a long time now hence the company also founded the Indian Language Internet Alliance to usher in more number of users into the mobile internet era. Google had also launched voice search in Hindi in December 2014 and the feature didn’t meet with the success it was anticipated with but we definitely think incubating the regional language is the way to go as the mobile android device users are increasing many folds day by day.
By launching these features, Google wants to bring in the non-english speaking population into the mobile internet era by giving them comfort in using the regional language to search.
