Twitter Wishes Diwali to Indians With #HappyDiwali Emoji Launch
Emoji’s are becoming big on Twitter – While Hashtags help you to identify and tag a topic, corresponding images, bring color and more visual appeal to a tweet – For the user, they don’t have to do anything, whenever they use a particular hashtag that has an emoji – it appears!
Now, Twitter is adding color and light to your Diwali Wishes by showing a emoji of a Diya whenever you use the hashtag #HappyDiwali. This is Twitter’s first-ever Diwali emoji for the country to celebrate the festival.
ishi Jaitly, Vice President of Media, APAC and MENA, Twitter said in regards to new Diwali Emoji launch, “This Diwali, Twitter is the go-to platform where people from across the world can engage in conversations about their celebrations, experiences and moments in real time. The #HappyDiwali emoji is a delightful, colorful way to unite Indians all over the world and celebrate the festival of lights together on Twitter,”

In addition to launching the #HappyDiwali emoji, Twitter has created a new microsite at www.diwaliontwitter.com where users can Tweet photos of their favorite Diwali moments using the hashtag #HappyDiwali and be a part of a special Diwali mosaic which will be revealed on Thursday, 12 November, 2015.
Just a few days back, Twitter had announced their first non-US brand Emoji in regards to make in India campaign. Any message with hashtag #MakeinIndia will accompany an emoji of Lion with orange background.
