Here is a video that explains what Hyundai app offers. It probably will be a big help for any Hyundai car owner.
Hyundai is India’s largest car exporter and second largest car manufacturer and this app launch is not a one-off case. More and more automobile companies are now going mobile.
India is witnessing a staggering growth of smart phone user-base, with more than 10 million units being shipped in the first quarter of 2013. 167% year on year growth in this segment is certainly huge. And as more smart phones are sold, people are spending more time and more content via their handheld devices, and the trend is increasing.
Realizing the importance and significance of mobile users in India, automobile companies are slowly realizing that in order to remain close to its customers, they have to enter their smartphones. And this new mobile app from Hyundai is just the beginning.
Not every automobile company has thought so far; when I tried to locate Android Apps for some of the largest car manufacturers in India, I was surprised to find that very few companies have actually launched their own app.
Some of the companies which have their own app on Android Playstore:
- Maruti
- Tata Manza
- Toyota
- Mahindra & Mahindra: They have launched several apps for fuelling their social media campaigns and outreach such as these.
But the new Hyundai app beats them all with its integrated approach to solve all consumer issues and problems.
Besides these major companies, I was not able to locate any apps for other car makers such as Chevrolet India, Ford India, Honda Cars India, Force Motors and Ashok Leyland. I am sure that Marketing department from these companies would be working overtime to ensure that their presence is felt by the new and informed smart phone users from India.
If you own a car, and which features would you want to have in the mobile apps from your car maker? Don’t you think that the every car maker should have their own personalized apps for its customers? Share your thoughts here!
Not available on iOS as of now :-(
Surprised to see that this app is not compatible with Galaxy S4.. Sad
