Like a camera shedding its limits to become something more, the smartphone is evolving into a tool of boundless vision.

From Smartphone to Modular Imaging Machine

The Vivo X300 Ultra signals a shift in mobile photography—from convenience to capability. Rather than just offering a strong camera, Vivo positions this device as a modular imaging system built for serious creators. Equipped with ZEISS co-engineered optics, the phone introduces a ZEISS Master Lenses lineup featuring 14mm, 35mm, and 85mm focal lengths, each paired with its own dedicated sensor—an uncommon approach in smartphones that typically rely on digital cropping.

At the center is the 85mm ZEISS Gimbal-Grade APO telephoto camera with a 200 MP sensor and advanced stabilization for handheld long-range shooting. Vivo claims up to 60 fps autofocus tracking, targeting action-heavy scenarios like sports or wildlife photography. Supporting this are ZEISS T coating and Super Blue Glass to reduce flare and ghosting.

The 35mm ZEISS Documentary camera uses a Sony LYTIA 901 sensor, offering a natural field of view ideal for street photography. Meanwhile, the 14mm ultra-wide lens rounds out the setup with improved distortion control and a brighter aperture for landscapes and environmental shots.

Pushing Boundaries with Optics and Video

What sets the X300 Ultra apart is its expandable ecosystem. Optional telephoto extenders—200mm and 400mm equivalents—push zoom capabilities far beyond typical smartphones. The 400mm version, built with a Kepler-inspired 15-element design, is aimed at distant subjects like wildlife or stage performances.

Vivo also introduces a new imaging pipeline called Vivo Color Science, using a 12-channel multispectral sensor to deliver more accurate tones under varying light conditions. On the video front, the device supports 4K at 120 fps across focal lengths, along with 10-bit Log and Dolby Vision recording. Features like LUT preview and ACES workflow compatibility bring professional-grade video tools into a mobile format.

Audio is handled by a quad-microphone system with directional presets, adding further control for content creators working in dynamic environments.

Alongside the Ultra, Vivo unveiled the X300 FE—a more compact and affordable alternative. It features a 50 MP ZEISS telephoto camera, support for the 200mm extender, and tools like Stage Mode and AI-assisted imaging, catering to users seeking portability without losing key features.

In this new age of lenses and light, the line between pocket device and professional camera fades into a single, seamless vision.

Summary

The Vivo X300 Ultra redefines smartphone photography with a modular system featuring ZEISS lenses, dedicated sensors, and attachable telephoto extenders up to 400mm. With advanced video tools, multispectral color science, and pro-level audio, it targets creators seeking DSLR-like control. The X300 FE offers a lighter alternative, signaling Vivo’s push toward smartphones as complete imaging platforms.
