State Bank of India (SBI) has opened applications for 207 Specialist Cadre Officer positions on a contractual basis, offering experienced professionals the opportunity to earn annual compensation of up to ₹97 lakh. The recruitment is primarily focused on SBI’s wealth management business.

207 Specialist Officer Vacancies
The recruitment drive includes positions such as Zonal Head, Regional Head, Relationship Manager-Team Lead, Investment Specialist, Investment Officer, VP-Wealth and AVP-Wealth.
The vacancies are spread across different roles and include both regular and backlog positions. Candidates must meet the educational qualifications, age limits and relevant professional experience prescribed for their respective posts.
The application process began on September 4, and eligible candidates can apply until September 25, 2026.
Salary Can Reach ₹97 Lakh
The compensation offered varies according to the position, experience and location. The annual CTC can reach ₹97 lakh for the highest-level positions.
The bank will negotiate the final compensation with shortlisted candidates based on factors including their existing salary, experience and posting location.
The positions are therefore targeted at experienced professionals rather than fresh graduates.
Who Can Apply?
The eligibility requirements differ significantly between positions.
For example, candidates applying for Zonal Head (Retail) should have an MBA with at least 60% marks, relevant professional certifications such as CFP, CFA or specified NISM qualifications, and at least 15 years of relevant experience.
For Regional Head, SBI requires an MBA in areas such as banking, finance or marketing, relevant certifications and at least 12 years of experience.
Investment Specialist and Investment Officer positions require relevant postgraduate qualifications or professional credentials such as CFA or CA, along with several years of relevant experience.
For VP-Wealth and AVP-Wealth positions, a bachelor’s degree is required, with relevant experience ranging from three to six years.
No Written Examination
Unlike many SBI recruitment drives, this recruitment does not involve a written examination.
Candidates will first be shortlisted based on their qualifications and experience. Shortlisted applicants will then appear for one or two rounds of interviews, which may be conducted through telephone or video conferencing.
The interview carries 100 marks, and the final compensation package will be discussed during the selection process.
Five-Year Contract
Selected candidates will initially be appointed for five years on a contractual basis. SBI may extend the engagement by another four years, subject to applicable conditions.
This makes the recruitment different from permanent SBI officer positions. Applicants should therefore carefully consider the contractual nature of the roles before applying.
Application Fee and Deadline
Candidates belonging to the General, EWS and OBC categories have to pay an application fee of ₹750. SC, ST and PwBD candidates are exempt from the fee.
Applications must be submitted online by September 25, 2026 through SBI’s official recruitment portal.

The roles include Zonal Head, Regional Head, Investment Officer, VP-Wealth and AVP-Wealth, with annual CTC of up to ₹97 lakh.
