Tata Technologies, a key player in the Indian electronics industry, is making significant strides in boosting its iPhone manufacturing capacity. The company’s iPhone assembly hub, located in Koothanapalli, Tamil Nadu, is set to witness a massive expansion.

This Tata Company Will Hire 35,000 Employees To Make More iPhones In Tamil Nadu

As part of this growth plan, Tata Technologies aims to increase its employee strength from the current 20,000 to an impressive 55,000, representing a 175 percent increase in its workforce.

As per Business Standard, alsmot 35,000 new employees will be hired. But no confirmation has been received from Tata Technologies.

With the company’s focus on expanding its operations and increasing production, it is well-positioned to meet the growing demand for iPhones in the Indian market and beyond.

Reason For Mass Hiring: Acquisition Of Pegatron Factory?

Potential Acquisition of Pegatron’s Chennai Unit The hiring drive at Tata Technologies comes amidst reports of the company’s ongoing talks with Pegatron, a Taiwan-based contract manufacturer for Apple. Tata Technologies is reportedly in discussions to acquire Pegatron’s unit near Chennai, which would further bolster its iPhone manufacturing capabilities.

This potential acquisition follows Tata Technologies’ successful acquisition of Wistron’s domestic operations in November last year for $125 million. That move made Tata Technologies the first Indian company to manufacture iPhones, showcasing its growing presence in the global electronics manufacturing industry.

The potential acquisition of Pegatron’s Chennai unit would not only expand Tata Technologies’ manufacturing capacity but also strengthen its position as a key player in the iPhone supply chain. This strategic move aligns with the company’s vision of becoming a major force in the electronics manufacturing sector, both domestically and internationally.

As Tata Technologies continues to invest in its workforce and explore strategic acquisitions, it is clear that the company is committed to driving innovation and growth in the iPhone manufacturing industry. With its expanding presence and increasing capabilities, Tata Technologies is poised to play a significant role in shaping the future of electronics manufacturing in India and beyond.
