Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Jalgaon in Maharashtra today to celebrate a significant milestone in women’s empowerment. The Prime Minister will felicitate 1.1 million women, known as ‘Lakhpati Didis,’ who have achieved an annual income of ₹1 lakh through their participation in self-help groups (SHGs). An official statement revealed that the Prime Minister will release a revolving fund of ₹2,500 crore. This fund is designed to benefit approximately 48 lakh members of 4.3 lakh SHGs across the state. In addition, PM Modi will disburse ₹5,000 crore in bank loans, which will directly impact 2.58 million members of 2.35 lakh SHGs.
