A plant for Apple’s maker, Foxconn, is being constructed close to Hyderabad, Telangana.
The plant is expected to employ over 100,000 people in the long run, starting with 25,000 positions.
Foxconn Construction in Hyderabad To Produce Airpods
Beginning in August, the plant will produce Apple’s AirPods.
This is the first time Foxconn has produced audio devices for Apple in India.
Two Foxconn factory lines have already been built in Hyderabad, according to Vishnu Reddy, Telangana’s special secretary for investment promotion and NRI affairs, who made this revelation in a recent interview with DIGITIMES Asia.
Foxconn’s original predicted schedule of two and a half years was surpassed by the completion of the entire factory in just one and a half years.
In March 2023, Young Liu, the Chairman of Foxconn, visited Hyderabad and signed a statement of intent with the State government to establish the factory.
The Hindu Businessline claims that Foxconn had earlier declared plans to invest $500 million in Hyderabad.
Foxconn Plant To Employ 25000 People
It is anticipated that the plant will initially employ 25,000 people.
The secretary declined to answer when asked if the wearables included Apple’s AirPods, stating that Foxconn is a contract manufacturer that works with several brands.
Which brands Foxconn serves is a decision made internally by the business.
