Karnataka government is facing flak from the opposition after a startling incident in which examination centres informed school students that they shall only issue question papers and answer sheets will not be given.
Decision to Discontinue Providing Answer Sheets Condemned
There was a new rule by the Karnataka State Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) under which headmasters were informed that they shall only be giving the question paper. Till year 2022-23, KSEAB used to provide answer sheets along with the question paper.
This latest move has faced flak from students, parents and even opposition parties. Tejasvi Surya, MP from Bengaluru South and BJP leader, said that the government has lost its dignity.
Speaking his mind on X, he said that “Congress Govt, which has pushed Karnataka into bankruptcy, is now forcing students to bring their own Answer Booklets for board exams. This govt is in complete mess & has lost the dignity to continue in office.”
Appeal for Funding to Education Department
He urged the CM of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah to release funds to education department so as to fund them to provide answer sheets to students for board exams.
He further added that “Urge CM Shri @siddaramaiah to immediately borrow & release funds to the education department, ensure answer booklets get printed. Lack of foresight and planning by the govt shouldn’t stress the student community”.
