Apple claimed all top five spots for smartphone models sold worldwide last year, affirming its premium segment leadership and resilience even without major redesigns.

Apple Demolishes Samsung In Premium Category: All The Top 5 Smartphones Sold Are iPhones!

iPhone 14 Pro Max Tops 34 Million Units Despite Million Dollar Price Tag The iPhone 14 Pro Max stormed to first place as 2023’s bestselling smartphone model globally, racking up an incredible 34 million units sold despite its premium million rupee-plus pricing, according to a new market report. Apple has leaned on the enduring popularity of its large-screen Pro Max iPhones across recent quarters to post standout sales.

New iPhone 15 Pro Max Impresses Early with 33 Million Sales Close on its predecessor’s heels, the latest iPhone 15 Pro Max launched in September 2022 secured the runner up spot with 33 million sales in just a few months – an indication of robust ongoing demand for Apple’s flagship device. Rounding out the iPhone sweep were the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro at 29 million units each.

iPhone 13 Defies Age, Red Hot in India and Emerging Markets Notably, the iPhone 13 from 2021 sold 23 million units, likely powered by strong appetite in price-sensitive emerging economies like India where older models command robust demand post price cuts. Overall, despite no radical changes versus the iPhone 14 series, buyers remained firmly entrenched in the Apple ecosystem.

Samsung Slips Down Ranks But Eyes Rebound with S24 Series
The first Android device was a lower-priced Samsung Galaxy A series phone in sixth place, with the S23 Ultra flagships trailing Apple. But Samsung looks to make up ground with this month’s launch of its AI-powered S24 lineup amid rumors of advanced cameras and satellite connectivity features.

In summary, all 5 top-selling smartphone models globally in 2023 were various iPhone variants, affirming Apple’s customer loyalty and leadership in the premium price tier despite the lack of major form factor changes.
