In a new ballot system, United Kingdom is offering 3,000 visas to Indian professionals which would allow them to live, work, or study in the country for up to two years.
Young Professionals Scheme – Opportunity for Indian Citizens Aged 18-30
Targeting the Indian citizens aged 18-30, the British High Commission in India has announced the India Young Professionals Scheme, in which one only needs to pay the visa cost ie, £298 (approximately Rs 31,100).
UK government website stated that “There are 3,000 places available for the India Young Professionals Scheme visa in 2024. Most places will be made available in the February ballot. The remaining places will be made available in the July ballot”.
Giving eligible applicants the chance to pursue their careers in the UK, the ballot window shall only be open from Tuesday (February 20), at 2:30 pm India Standard Time, to February 22.
UK Visa Ballot for Indian Graduates
British High Commission in India on X posted that “If you are an Indian graduate who wants to live, work or study in the UK for up to 2 years, you can enter the ballot for a chance to apply for a visa”.
The rules of UK government state that those Indians who intend to apply need to provide specific information for the ballot. People have been asked the ensure the compliance with the financial, educational, and other mandatory factors before applying for a visa.
It shall be from ballot that the successful entries will be picked randomly. It shall be after 2 weeks after the ballot closes, that the applicants shall get the results over email.
UK government that the for the applicants shall have a period of 90 days from the date of email to online application, to paying the visa fee (including immigration health surcharge) and providing biometrics.
