Airtel Finally Brings ‘Smart Missed Call Alert’: Check Missed Calls Alerts When SIM Is Out Of Coverage Area
Airtel has introduced the ‘Smart Missed Call Alerts’ feature for its customers.
The feature lets people know about missed calls when their SIM is out of network coverage.
How It Works
However, Airtel won’t send an SMS to users to alert them.
The user has to open the Airtel Thanks app and check for any updates in the Missed Call Alerts section.
You will be able to find the ‘Curated by you’ tab on the app where the user will be able to see one tab that says “smart missed call alerts”.
You Should Know
There doesn’t seem to be a notification system in place as yet.
The feature is available to both prepaid and postpaid users.
However, it should be noted that the call log won’t feature all of the calls but only the ones that you missed when your phone is not in-network.
Users who don’t see the missed call alerts tab on their phone might have to update the app to the latest version.
It will work for those who have an active voice calling connection regardless of the type of plan they have purchased.
Jio’s Version
This is something Jio users have already been using for a while now.
Jio’s Missed Call Alert service also lets people know about calls they have missed when outside the network coverage area.
The difference between the two is that Jio has implemented it better than Airtel.
With Jio, users get an alert about calls missed when the smartphone is switched off or out of coverage..
They have the advantage of receiving the alert via an SMS, which is clearly more convenient than visiting an app to check for missed calls every time you re-enter the network area.
The feature works even when the customer is on international or national roaming.
