The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM-B) on February 23 said it has secured 662 offers for its 513 MBA graduates to complete the final placement this year in just two days.
Accenture has 51 offers, Amazon has 37 offers, BCG has 30 offers and Kearney has job profiles and is the top recruiters this year at the elite B-School.
More Offers, More Jobs This Year
There is a 37% growth in the number of offers from last year. This growth is primarily due to the increased demand for consulting and product management roles. Strategy consulting is the most in-demand role among the students, which is followed by product management and finance.
Consulting and product management emerged as the crucial sectors to hire a majority of the management grads, IIM-B said. Consulting companies made 248 offers and other than Accenture, BCG and Kearney, companies like Bain & Co made 26 offers, McKinsey & Co made 22 offers, EY made 9 offers, PricewaterhouseCoopers made 9 offers, Tata Consultancy Services made 9 offers, Alvarez & Marsal made 7 offers, Arthur D. Little made 7 offers and were among other lead recruiters.
IT, Product Management #1 Recruiter
Recruiters in the IT and product management domain have made 141 offers including 15 jobs from Microsoft and 11 from OYO. Amagi Labs made 7 offers, Oracle made 7 offers, Atlassian made 6 offers, Google made 6 offers, Info Edge made 6 offers, Razorpay made 6 offers and many other companies who have offered multiple roles to the batch.
More than 65 offers have been made by e-commerce and related companies including Amazon which made 37 offers, Paytm made 16 offers, Flipkart made 6 offers, and Myntra made 6 offers. IIM-B grads received 71 offers in the finance field. Goldman Sachs made the maximum number of offers (22) followed by Avendus Capital with 7 offers, Citi Bank with 7 offers and Deutsche Bank with 5 offers.
Roopa Adyasha who is a senior manager at Career Development Services, stated the hiring cautiousness, exhibited earlier by recruiters during the pandemic, seems to have “transformed into a new wave of optimism, enthusiasm and a growth mindset for organisations across all industries and sectors”.
IIM-B has not shared any details about the average pay or any other salary details.
A strong campus placement season is going to continue on B-School campuses in India after a great IIT hiring season. Several IIMs including IIM-Ahmedabad, IIM-Lucknow, IIM-Indore, and IIM-Nagpur have already completed the final placements for the 2022 graduation batch.
The top private B-Schools like Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s SPJIMR (SP Jain Institute of Management and Research) and ISB with campuses in Hyderabad and Mohali have completed the final campus hiring season this year with great placement numbers.
