Republic Day Sales On Amazon, Flipkart Starts From January 16? This Is What We Know So Far..

Given the surging Covid-19 cases across the country, e-commerce giants Amazon and Flipkart will prepone their upcoming Republic Day sales by 4-5 days earlier than their usual dates.

This is done as e-commerce giants fear that the rising Covid-19 cases would delay or impact the last mile delivery executives. Hence, the e-comm companies will commence Republic Day sales earlier.

Details of the Upcoming Sale

E-comm giants Amazon.in and Flipkart usually begin their Republic Day sales from January 20 or 22, which lasts for the next 4-5 days.

However, with the increasing Covid-19 cases across the country, the e-comm giants have decided to roll-out sales earlier this year, starting most likely from January 16-17. The companies have already stocked up their inventories and are preparing for the sale already.

This means that this time the Republic Day sale will run longer than usual, naturally as it would be starting earlier than scheduled.

Avneet Singh Marwah, the chief executive of Super Plastronics Pvt Ltd stated, “The online Republic Day sales are getting advanced since the marketplaces fear a continued surge in infections and stricter restrictions by states, which could impact supply chain and deliveries”.

He further mentioned that sales of offline store stores have already depreciated. Thus, it’s a big opportunity for them to convert their existing business online, cited an India Today report.

The country has reported 1.79 lakh new coronavirus cases, along with 146 death reports in the past 24 hours. 

As per the report, an executive stated that this time it is highly uncertain of the Centre and state governments to put up restrictions on e-commerce, as online sales are an efficient and safer way for consumers to purchase during the pandemic. 

On Amazon India’s platform, a teaser for the upcoming sale has already become live, which points out a ‘coming soon’ indicator and is called the Amazon Great Republic Day Sale.

The deals mentioned on the e-comm major’s website for the upcoming sale consists of up to 80% off on Amazon Fashion, up to 70% off on Home & Kitchen goods, daily essentials starting from Rs. 99, electronics and accessories starting from Rs. 99, lowest prices ever on popular smartphones from brands like Samsung, OnePlus, Xiaomi and deals on other items, states another report.
