Reliance tops Indian companies in Forbes’ ranking
According to Forbes’ World’s Best Employers rankings 2021, Reliance Industries, India’s biggest company by revenues, profits, and market capitalization, has been announced as the best employer among Indian corporates.
The company helmed by Mukesh Ambani is placed at 52 among 750 corporates evaluated — ahead of Phillips, Sanofi, Pfizer, and Intel. The list also includes other Indian companies, ICICI Bank at 65, HDFC Bank at 77, and HCL Technologies at 90.
South Korean Samsung Electronics topped the global rankings trailed by IBM at number 2, Microsoft at 3, Amazon at 4, and Apple at 5th spot.
The report is based on the survey conducted in 58 countries
For the data of this report, Forbes had partnered with Market Research Company Statista. They conducted the survey across 58 countries among 150,000 full-time and part-time workers of multi-national companies and institutions.
In the survey participants were anonymously asked to rate the companies on aspects such as image, economic footprint, talent development, gender equality, and social responsibility. The 750 companies that received the highest total scores made the final list. All the surveys were anonymous which allowed participants to openly share their opinions.
Reliance is taking significant steps
During the pandemic, Reliance did not lay off any of its staff. It also took care of employees’ medical needs as well as vaccinations. The company also made efforts to financially secure dependents of employees who passed away during the pandemic. On top of that, the company added 75,000 new jobs during the pandemic.
The company has also fared consistently in LinkedIn’s Top Companies list for the best companies helping employees build the professional foundation. The Reliance group has also won multiple HR Excellence awards in 2020-21.
The latest report certainly will add to the attraction of the company in the minds of young talent.
