Xiaomi Launches New Electric Scooter, Checkout Upcoming Scooters In India 2021 (Electric)

Xiaomi launched a new electric scooter, Mi Electric Scooter 3. The new model weighs 13 kg and has a maximum load of 100 kg. It has an aerospace-grade aluminum chassis, pneumatic tires, eABS on the front and dual-pad disc brake on the rear, a 2W headlight and two colour options: Onyx Black and Gravity Grey. The Mi Electric Scooter 3 has a 275 Wh battery for up to 30 km range (18.6 miles). It can operate at 300W continuously with peak power-hitting of 600W.

In India, the all-new Ola Electric Scooter has also been making a lot of news in the market. The ride hailing company opened up bookings for its own branded electric bike in India, the yet-to-be-launched Ola Electric.

Ola Electric Scooter

Ola Electric Scooter is an arm of the cab aggregator, and the company has claimed that it has received more than one lakh bookings for the upcoming electric scooter in India. Apart from the upcoming Ola Electric, the company also plans to launch eBikes aka electric bikes in India soon.

Not only Ola, several other auto brands are planning to launch electric bikes in India in coming days. Some companies already offer electric options with scooters and bikes.

Ather 450X

Already quite popular, Ather Energy launched the Ather 450X in 2020. A best-seller in its category, the Ather 450X packs in some of the best features. At present, Ather 450X ex-showroom starts at Rs 1,32,426 in Delhi. The Ather electric scooter takes 3 hours 35 minutes to get an 80 percent charge and offers a driving range of 116 km on full charge.

Simple One

This upcoming electric scooter in India could be a potential rival to the Ola Electric bike. To be called Simple One, it’s being manufactured by a Bengaluru-based startup, Simple Energy. The electric bike will launch in India in August 2021. Simple One is said to offer a range of 240kms in a single 70 minutes charge. Simple One ex-showroom price could start at around Rs 1,20,000.

TVS iQube

TVS is already in the electric bike game. The TVS iQube is an all-electric scooter which comes with some sprawling specifications. Among one of the most-sold electric scooters in India, the TVS iQube scooter can speed from 0 to 40kmph in just 4.2 seconds. On a full charge, the TVS electric bike offers a maximum distance of 75km on a single charge. 

Suzuki Burgman Electric

Suzuki is reportedly coming up with an all-electric version of the popular maxi scooter, Burgman. Already a popular choice among scooter enthusiasts in India, it’s getting a full electric version soon. The Suzuki electric scooter might hit the India market by late 2021. Suzuki Burgman Electric will have the same design as the fuel-based version in India. 

Yamaha Electric Scooter

Yamaha India is also planning to launch an electric bike in India. The company already has scooters in the fuel category, and might either give Fascino or Rayzr an electric makeover, or bring a new bike altogether.
