Free Amazon Streaming Service Now Live, Amazon MiniTV
Amazon MiniTV is now live. After a successful run with the Prime Video across the world, the e-commerce giant has launched a free video streaming service in India. While the Prime Video has definitely helped Amazon stay ahead of its competitors in terms of driving sales and challenging streaming services, the new MiniTV will directly take on the likes of YouTube, short video apps and other platforms.
An average Android user in India spends around 7 hours on the YouTube app in a week, and that does offer a potential market with a huge market to cater to.
The Amazon MiniTV will come with ads but the streaming service is “completely free” as YouTube, MX Player. Users can use it for free within the Amazon India app, and is only available in India currently.
Amazon MiniTV will offer web-series, comedy shows, tech news, food, beauty, fashion with more upcoming titles and categories. Amazon is already advertising with the hit TVF show ‘Aspirants’. Multiple titles produced by TVF and Pocket Aces are available with videos from popular YouTubers as Ashish Chanchlani, Amit Bhadana, Round2Hell, Harsh Beniwal, Shruti Arjun Anand, Elvish Yadav, Prajakta Koli, Swagger Sharma, Aakash Gupta and Nishant Tanwar.
Unlike Prime Video, the MiniTV has no original content as of now, and is only streaming content from other creators and media houses. You will get to stream videos on latest tech products and trends by us directly on MiniTV, Trakin Tech, fashion and beauty videos from Sejal Kumar, Malvika Sitlani, Jovita George, Prerna Chhabra and ShivShakti, Food videos from Kabita’s Kitchen, Cook with Nisha and Gobble.
Amazon MiniTV plans to take on Flipkart Video as well. The Walmart owned company launched a similar free video service on it’s app way back. The new MiniTV is currently available on Amazon’s Android app, and will soon be available with the iOS version. The move by Amazon is no new, food delivery giant Zomato and payments solution provider Paytm also experimented with similar video offering on their respective apps.
