Xiaomi 200MP Phone Coming, Mi MIX 4?
Xiaomi could soon be coming up with a 200MP phone, probably the next generation Mi MIX 4. Leaked by popular tipster Digital Chat Station, the smartphone is said to feature a 200-megapixel camera. The camera sensor will not be procured from Sony or Samsung, though reports say it will be made by Samsung. Xiaomi previously has been a frontrunner when it comes to using top-end camera sensors by Samsung, and again Xiaomi is going to maintain the feat.
The company launched the first 108-megapixel camera followed by a number of phones with the same sensor, Mi 11X Pro being the recent in the country.
Digital Chat Station (via Twitter) confirmed that the 200-megapixel camera sensor is in the works, and it will be a part of the Samsung ISOCELL sensor portfolio. The 108-megapixel camera sensors are primarily used on the premium phones which will eventually get into the mid-range and budget phones as the 200MP sensor makes an entry.
The upcoming 200-megapixel camera sensor as previously leaked by Ice Universe, suggested it will have 0.64-micron pixels, the smallest yet we are yet to see on a smartphone camera. It will come in a size of 1/1.37 inch, much like the Samsung HM3 sensor or the smaller Samsung GN2 sensor, speculated by tipster WHYLAB.
The 200MP camera sensor is also said to support up to 16K video recording and up to 16-in-1 pixel binning technology which in result will help to produce more enhanced and detailed images.
After Xiaomi, Samsung itself will probably launch a smartphone with the upcoming 200-megapixel sensor. As of the reports available now, Xiaomi will be the first to get it, and Mi MIX 4 is said to be it.
