Apple ProMotion iPhone Displays: What Will Change? 240Hz Refresh Rate?
iPhones are yet to come with higher refresh rate displays, will be using Apple ProMotion displays. Already used on Apple iPad Pro models, the same ProMotion displays are said to be used on upcoming iPhones. Budget Android devices already come with 90Hz and 120Hz display panels. The new displays can dynamically adjust the refresh rate based on screen content and movement. ProMotion displays for Apple iPad Pro models can offer refresh rate up to 120Hz.
It can also be adjusted accordingly between 1Hz and 120Hz depending on the content.
Dynamic refresh rate helps to save up battery life. Apple ProMotion displays will be used in different Apple products like iPhones and MacBooks. iPhone 13 series are said to come with the ProMotion display offering high-refresh-rate.
Higher refresh rates has been a generic feature on Android phones for a long time now, while iPhones missed out. Even gaming-focused laptops and content-creation machines are using higher refresh rate for displays. Apple MacBook still uses a 60Hz refresh rate display, while ProMotion displays are said to debut with MacBook Pro 2021 or iMac 2021.
iPhone 13 launch will happen at the end of September, as per the latest reports. According to Wedbush’s Daniel Ives, Apple plans to release iPhone 13 in September by the third week.
Recently iPhone 13 was leaked to come with a maximum internal storage capacity of 1TB. Back in January, tipster Jon Prosser confirmed the same. Currently the latest iPhones come with a maximum of 512GB internal storage. The upcoming iPhones are said to come with improved LiDAR technology on all iPhone 13 models, also confirmed before.
In the latest development, A15 Bionic specs are out. iPhone 13 series will be powered by A15 Bionic, said to be manufactured on a 4nm process. Though another report counters with a 5nm A15 Bionic chipset. It will be developed by TSMC, production begins in May. iPhone 13 models recently were tipped to feature Always-On displays.
EverythingApplePro and Max Weinbach revealed the Always-On Display functionality for iPhone 13 series. The leak hints at a 120Hz LTPO display by Samsung, (low-temperature polycrystalline oxide) displays. So, users will be able to receive notifications and check battery percentage, time and other relevant information on display at all times.
