OnePlus 9R is now spotted, another OnePlus 9 smartphone after OnePlus 9E and OnePlus 9 Lite. It’s now pretty clear that in 2021 the brand will release more than two phones this year. While it could be three or more phones, OnePlus will be bringing in a watered-down version of OnePlus 9 in the mid-range segment. The mid-range OnePlus phone has been tipped multiple times, and the name keeps changing.
After OnePlus 9 Lite, OnePlus 9 SE and OnePlus 9E, it has now been leaked with the model name OnePlus 9R.
Renowned tipster Evan Blass suggests that the third OnePlus 9 phone could be called OnePlus 9R. It’s a code from the firmware of the device showing ‘OnePlus 9R‘ moniker. Late in last year popular tipster Max Jambor revealed that third the OnePlus 9 device will be called OnePlus 9E.
Later, Android Central said that the upcoming OnePlus mid-range phone will be called OnePlus 9 Lite. Evan Blass even added Goodbye, OnePlus 9E/SE/Lite, so chances are the device could be called OnePlus 9R, but there’s no concrete evidence to it. Whatever be the same, there’s a third device from OnePlus in pipeline this year under OnePlus 9 series.
OnePlus 9 Mid-Range Phone / OnePlus 9R: OnePlus 9 Lite / SE / E
Android Central previously hinted that the upcoming OnePlus mid-range phone wilo debut with Snapdragon 865 chipset. The device is said to feature a 6.5-inch 1080p 90Hz display, a 64MP primary camera sensor with an 8MP ultra-wide, 5,000mAh battery, 8GB RAM & 128GB storage. The device will also support fast charging, probably 30W charging.
OnePlus 9E will feature a 64-megapixel main sensor and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide unit. It’s going to be a multi camera setup, probably a quad camera system with a macro and depth sensor.
The newly leaked OnePlus 9R is being rumoured to be an affordable variant, much like Apple iPhone 12 mini or Galaxy S21 FE. OnePlus 9R is expected to start at under Rs 20,000 in India.
OnePlus 9E launch will probably happen alongside the OnePlus 9 series in March. OnePlus may also unveil another mid-range phone in the country: OnePlus Nord 2 in the next few months. OnePlus 9R launch date will soon be confirmed. OnePlus 9R launch in India will happen on the the same day as the global launch, while availability will be confirmed later.
