BSNL’s Cheapest Plan Offers Unlimited Calls, Data At Rs 47: What’s The Catch Here?
A cheaper recharge plan with a new First Recharge (FRC) of Rs 47 for the prepaid subscribers has been introduced by Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL).
The government-owned telecom operator has decided to make this applicable to new customers who are going to recharge for the first time.
New Recharge Plan To Increase The Subscriber Base
BSNL, with a current customer base around 110-120 million, has devised this move with the aim to increase their subscriber base. It will be valid for 28 days and will come with voice calling, data, and SMS benefits.
Notably, BSNL is fourth is ranking, after Jio, Airtel & Vodafone Idea. However, the customer gap between the the country’s third-largest and fourth-largest telcos is huge. Vodafone Idea has a subscriber base of 269.8 million as of December 31.
The New Plan
The new recharge plan, comes with unlimited voice calling benefits (on-net/off-net/local/STD) in Home LSA and national roaming, including MTNL roaming areas- Mumbai and Delhi.
With just Rs 47, new BSNL customers will be able to enjoy an unlimited combo plan which comes with 14GB of data and 100 SMSes per day which shall have a validity of 28 days.
Other terms and conditions are as per the premium per minute plan PV 107 as per the company. The customers will have to perform another recharge to keep their BSNL SIM card active after the initial plan validity of 100 days of FRC 47.
This promotional offer which is currently being offered to new users in Chennai and Tamil Nadu Telecom Circle till March 31, 2021. Although FRC 47 can be expected to be launched in other telecom circles.
