Indians Said “I Love You” To Alexa 19,000 Times In Last 365 Days; 1200% Increase In One Year

The insights by Amazon’s Alexa have revealed some amusing facts about customer interactions with the virtual assistant. 

Apparently, customers have said “I love you” to Alexa for about 19,000 times a day. What’s even more surprising is that this has increased by 1200 percent from 2019!

Rate Of People Saying “I Love You” To Alexa Increase: Alexa Insights

Amazon Alexa has turned three years on Monday and Amazon released some insights about customer interaction with the virtual assistant in India. 

There has been an increase in the number of customers from non-metro cities buying an Echo device. They have made up for more than 50 percent of India’s Alexa users. 

Puneesh Kumar, Country Leader for Alexa, Amazon India said, “Be it the Echo device in the living room, 100+ Alexa built-in devices or your favourite smartphone, it is heart-warming to see users across the length and breadth of the country across age groups find value and adopt Alexa in their daily lives.”

Echo smart speakers have been purchased by customers from more than 85 per cent pin codes in 2020.

Alexa To Become Cheaper?

On the third anniversary of Alexa, Amazon has assured that it will make the digital assistant affordable and more accessible for customers that are looking to buy the virtual assistant in their homes. 

He said, “For us, it is always Day 1 as we learn from our customers and continue to add new features, improving Alexa’s understanding on topics that matter to users locally.”

There are many leading smartphone manufacturers that offer Alexa inbuilt in their phones. As of now, six smartphones offer inbuilt Alexa, including Redmi Note 9 Pro and OnePlus Nord.

In 2020, Alexa made its debut on the Amazon Shopping App (Android only) and has reportedly responded to more than 5.8 lakh requests and searched for products, best deals, and music as well.

Also last year customers in India have also asked Alexa to control a smart home gadget for about 8.6,00,00 times every day. Also they are preferring their voice to control their smart home gadgets.
