Redmi’s 1st Ever Smartwatch Launched At Rs 3300: USPs, India Launch?

For the first time ever, Redmi has launched a smartwatch in China on Thursday, November 26.

As it was informed by Redmi, General Manager Lu Weibing who shared through a post on Chinese microblogging website Weibo.

The Redmi Watch is launched in China for 299 yuan, or about $45(roughly Rs. 3,300).

If we talk about the display, the watch has a 1.4-inch rectangular display with 323ppi pixel density and 2.5D tempered curved glass screen.

The Xiaomi’s budget sub-brand first smartwatch will come in legant Black, Ink Blue, and Ivory White color variants. 

The silicone strap has more color options since it is available in Elegant Black, Ink Blue, Ivory White, Cherry Blossom Powder, and Pine Needle Green.

For the operations, the company has provided a single button on the side of the watch.

All the other operations are being handled by the touchscreen or the Mi Fit app on a paired smartphone.

In terms of features, it has NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, a heart rate monitor, and waterproofing up to 50m. 

The smartwatch comes with a 24×7 heart rate monitor.

It also offers seven sports modes that include indoor running, outdoor running, outdoor cycling, indoor cycling, walking, swimming in the pool, and free activities. 

It weighs only 35 grams and supports NFC for payments and other purposes.

Battery Life For Redmi Smartwatch

If used in a power-saving mode, the battery life for this smartwatch will be good for up to 7 days, or 12 days, according to Xiaomi. 

The UI and watch faces make heavy use of black backgrounds in this smartwatch.

Since, you can’t expect an OLED display at this price like the Apple Watch.

The smartwatch offers over 120 watch face options and more will be arriving regularly on the watch face store. 

The watch also comes with 5ATM water resistance that allows it to work in up to 50 metres of water. 

It has an optical heart rate sensor, six-axis sensor, geomagnetic sensor, and ambient light sensor.

According to critics, the Redmi smartwatch comes with a pretty uninspiring design but at a pretty attractive price.

The watch will be available for purchase on December 1st in China.

It may come in a slightly tweaked form in case of other markets , including the US.
