Delhi Refuses To Open Schools From Sept 21; All Schools Closed Till This Date?
After Uttrakhand Govt stopped schools from reopening, Delhi has joined them, and have declared that no schools will be opened from Sept 21.
As per the latest directives for Unlocking India, Govt of India has allowed schools to be opened for class 9th to class 12th, albeit on an optional mode.
But it seems that most of the states in India wont allow schools to be reopened, since the final decision rests on the individual states.
Delhi: Schools To Remain Shut Till October 5th
Directorate of Education under Delhi Govt has announced that no schools will be allowed to be opened from Sept 21st.
As per the guidelines, schools will remain shut till October 5th, and online classes and sessions will be encouraged and allowed.
The notification from the Delhi Govt said, “All schools will remain closed for all students till 05.10.2020. However, online classes and teaching-learning activities will continue as usual and HoS (Heads of Schools) are authorized to call teachers/ staff (as per requirement) for smooth conduct of online classes, teaching-learning activities and any other work,”
In order to ensure that online classes are happening on time, and with focus, all Govt and non-Govt schools have been asked to prepare a timetable for the students, and ensure that education is not stopped.
The notification said, “HoS of all schools shall ensure that suitable Time Table with the schedule of Online Classes is developed by their schools, share it well in time with the concerned teachers and students and conduct the online classes accordingly,”
