How Did This Happen?
Creating another benchmark, Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has launched the S-CNG variant of Maruti Suzuki Alto.
According to reports, the CNG powered Alto BS6 will offer mileage of 31.59 km/kg.
Moreover, the CNG version is available in 2 variants – LXi and LXi (O).
Also, Maruti Suzuki S-CNG vehicles are equipped with dual interdependent ECUs (Electronic Control Units) and intelligent injection system.
These vehicles are specially tuned and calibrated to deliver optimum performance and enhanced drivability across all kinds of terrains.
Which Are The Features That Can Not Be Missed In Maruti Suzuki S-CNG?
Maruti Suzuki claims that the CNG variants will deliver an efficiency of 31.59 kms/kg.
The Maruti Alto 800 is powered by a 796cc, 3-cyl, F8B petrol engine.
With petrol, the engine produces 48 HP and 69 Nm while on CNG it churns out 40.36 HP and 60 Nm.
Also, the engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and CNG tank comes with a 60-litre water equivalent filling capacity.
In addition to the factory-fitted CNG kit, the Maruti Alto 800 comes with no other changes.
Also, the vehicle comes with features like a standard driver side airbag, optional passenger side airbag, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, and seat-belt reminders.
What Is The Price For Maruti Alto S-CNG?
Maruti Suzuki Alto has already sold over 100,000 of these BS6 cars in the country so far and it was the first vehicle to become BS6 compliant.
According to the car maker “The launch of Maruti Suzuki’s S-CNG vehicle range is aligned to and complements the Government of India’s vision of reducing oil import and enhancing the share of natural gas in the energy basket of the country from 6.2% now to 15% by 2030,”.

What Does Maruti Say About Maruti Alto S-CNG Launch?
