Whatsapp Will Block Your Account If You Are Part Of These Groups

Here comes a story from Whatspp that you have to read because it contains essential information that needs to be taken action upon immediately. Whatsapp has been up in news for a variety of reasons lately and has been pushing itself towards launching newer updates every now and then.

It has been recently found that Whatsapp has been banning Whatsapp groups having suspicious or malicious sounding group names, due to recent incidents that have resurfaced themselves.

We have elicit more on this matter but if you are a member of any group having suspicious names, it is advised to immediately change it, if you do not wish to get your entire group banned by Whatsapp.

Whatsapp Groups Banned for Sharing Malicious Content

Technology has expanded unbelievably and the extent to which it is being used for both good and evil purposes see no limit.

According to WABetaInfo, there have been several cases reported this year, wherein Whatsapp Groups were proliferated with malicious content related to child sexual abuse circulating on such groups.

Recently, a Reddit user named Mowe11 was banned by WhatsApp after his university group’s name was changed.

The entire group was banned by Whatsapp.

When the banned users tried reaching to WhatsApp support, they were told that the ban was implemented because they violated WhatsApp’s Terms of Services.

In case you aren’t taking it seriously, a two-week investigation conducted by the Cyber Peace Foundation found that WhatsApp groups continue to be used to disseminate and share Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) in India.

Most of these groups have group icons that are obscene and sexual and don’t just show adults but even children in sexually explicit activity directly.

Whatsapp’s Privacy Push: Block People From Adding you in Meaningless Groups

Lucky for you, Whatsapp has recently introduced a new feature that enables users to control who can add them in a group.

Just like other privacy settings on Whatsapp, users can now select people, either ‘Everyone’, ‘My Contacts’ or ‘My Contacts Except’from adding them into Whatsapp groups. This will give users more control over who can add them to groups, preventing them from getting unwanted messages including viral information that can spread through groups.
