Cognizant Will Hire 23,000 Indian Freshers From Technical Institutions; Rs 4 Lakh Annual Salary Promised!
After being in the news for firing 13000 employees, there is now news that Cognizant will be hiring 23,000 employees from various technology institutions in India.
Cognizant has been in the limelight for all the wrong reasons recently, and the Union Employees deeming this illegal called for a tripartite meeting. However, the senior-level officials of the company have revealed that the job cut was a small portion of a larger plan.
But here is another perplexing news, that the company will be hiring freshers and from the market as well.
Apparently, 15,000 offers have already been made at more than 80 engineering campuses as of yet.

Cognizant To Hire 23000 Graduates and Post-Graduates In India
One of the leading IT companies, Cognizant has announced that they will be hiring as much as 23,000 STEM graduate students and post graduate students from technical institutes of India in 2020.
As per the Chairman and Managing Director, Cognizant India, Ramkumar Ramamoorthy, this figure does not include the business process outsourcing (BPO) operations.
Ramamoorthy said, “Cognizant is one of the biggest beneficiaries of STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) talent from India and with digital permeating every function in every industry, the need for talent with digital competencies is only increasing.”
He also revealed that Cognizant has boosted the compensation of these students, from Rs. 3.8 lakh to Rs. 4 lakhs per annum at the entry level.
This increase in salary has been done in order to ‘recognize the new-age competencies and skills’ that these students possess and bring to the company.
Firing 13000 People Was Part Of The Plan: Cognizant’s Chairman and MD
The company was in a huge controversy until last week, when they declared the firing of 13,000 employees.
IT employees union have termed this as illegal, and asked for a tripartite meeting with Govt officials.
It was also recently dragged to the court for irrational working hours and leave policy.
Speaking about this firing, Ramamoorthy said that the company is hiring, and will continue hiring at campuses and the market as well.
He said that the announcement of firing that was made previously was only a small portion of this, as much as 1%.
There are about 290000 employees on a global level and that they have to consider everything at that context.
