Top 10 Expected Features On Mi A3: Full Specs, India Launch, Price In India
The much-hyped Mi A3 is almost here, and the final leaks are out. The third generation Mi A series smartphone remains one of the most-anticipated devices in the country this year. After being a part of the rumour mill for a long time, we may the final look here.
It was previously rumoured to be the newly launched Mi CC series, and the latest leaks suggest something similar.
First of all, the Mi A3 series smartphones will run on Android One program under Google. The devices will come without MIUI and pure Android onboard, similar to what we see on any Nokia device or Pixel smartphone. Secondly, the Mi A3 series would be a spin-off of an existing Mi series and not a new device.
The previous generation Mi A series smartphones: Mi A1 and Mi A2 were rebranded Mi 5X and Mi 6X respectively without MIUI.
Similarly, the Mi A3 series will be a rebranded Mi series smartphones. As Mi X series devices are discontinued, the Mi CC series will replace the new Mi A generation smartphones. The company is yet to officially confirm the details, but we have enough evidence to support the development of next generation Xiaomi Mi A3 series.
Let’s check out the top expected features of Mi A3 (some of them are already leaked, while a few are yet to be confirmed).
Contents
Rear Triple Camera Setup
The upcoming Mi A3 will come with a triple camera system at the back. The recent Mi CC9 smartphone came with a three camera setup at the rear side, while the upcoming Redmi K20 will also have rear triple cameras. The company will include a similar setup for Xiaomi Mi A3 as well. Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro will soon launch in India with three rear camera systems.
The company will include a secondary wide-angle camera and a third telephoto camera in the three camera system. The setup could be similar to Redmi K20.
48MP Primary Sensor
Currently Xiaomi has two smartphones available in India with the much-popular 48MP sensors: Redmi Note 7S and Redmi Note 7 Pro. Soon two more smartphones will join the 48MP camera smartphone list: Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro. While Redmi Note 7 Pro and Redmi K20 Pro have Sony IMX 586 48MP sensors, the other two come with different 48MP sensors.
The Redmi K20 will have a slightly toned-down Sony IMX 582 48MP sensor, while Redmi Note 7S has Samsung ISOCELL GM1 48MP sensor which uses pixel binning technology to produce 48MP quality images.
As of now, we don’t know which 48MP sensor would Xiaomi use inside the three camera system on Mi A3, but it would be either the 48-megapixel Sony IMX 586 sensor or the Redmi K20 48-megapixel Sony IMX 582 sensor. The other two sensors would remain the same.
Glass Sandwich Body, Protected By Corning Gorilla Glass 5
Mi A3 will come with a similar design as the other newly launched Redmi smartphones, a glass sandwich body. The Mi A3 will have a glass body on both sides protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The company is yet to reveal a design, but the leaks suggest at a complete glass design as Redmi Note 7 Pro and the Redmi K20 series.
The leaked design hint at a glass sandwich design protected by the last generation Corning Gorilla Glass.
Top Selfie Shooter
Mi A3 may come in with a 32-megapixel camera upfront. The recently launched Mi CC smartphone came with a top selfie sensor, hinting at a top selfie camera. The company may use the same 32MP selfie sensor for Mi A3.
The Mi A generation smartphones in India have always been serious about the camera performance.
The camera setup on Mi A3, both front and rear are going to be top notch in terms of overall experience.
Snapdragon 730
Xiaomi previously confirmed that they will soon launch a smartphone running on newly launched Snapdragon 730 chip. While the company is yet to confirm the chip, it’s expected to be the new Snapdragon 730. Snapdragon 730 currently powers the Redmi CC9 series and Redmi K20.
The Snapdragon 730 will succeed Snapdragon 660 on Mi A2.
As an upgrade, the Mi A3 will come with the newly unveiled Snapdragon 730 chipset to offer flagship some top class performance backed by a few top-end features and specs.
In-Display Fingerprint Sensor
The upcoming smartphone from Xiaomi won’t come with the usual fingerprint sensor at the back. So, Mi A3 would sport an in-display fingerprint sensor. The newly launched Mi CC9 also comes with a fingerprint sensor inside the display.
Redmi K20 will come with an AMOLED display similar to the one found on the Mi 9.
Design Technology
So, Mi A3 is also expected to come with a similar display. The smartphone either could feature a pop-up sensor or a water drop notch on the top. The company may also change the design, and it may feature a hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera on top of the display.
The company doesn’t experiment with the design for any Mi A smartphone, so the similar design is expected to be repeated.
Better Battery
Mi A3 will come with a better battery and higher life. The upcoming smartphone may come with a 3,940mAh battery, an upgrade over the current 3,000mAh battery on Mi A2. The smartphone will also support fast charging. Xiaomi will pack in a fast charger inside the box supporting upto 18W fast charging technology.
The smartphone will run on the latest Android One version to offer better battery life with stock Android 9 Pie.
Mi A3 India Launch
Redmi K20 series will launch in India later next week. While the company will go on with Redmi K20 series for sometime, the Mi A3 may launch in the second half. The company is yet to confirm anything officially. Mi A2, the second generation Mi A2 smartphone was launched in August last year.
The next Mi A3 may launch sometime in September. The first Mi A1 launched in September in 2017.
Mi A3 Price In India
It will be priced somewhere around the upcoming Redmi K20 given the similar set of features. The Redmi K20 series will be unveiled on July 17. The price of Mi A3 will depend on the regular Redmi K20. The expected price of Mi A3 may start somewhere around Rs 18,000 in the country.
Xiaomi faced a big backslash after the Mi A2 launch in the country because of the India pricing.
Xiaomi is expected not to repeat the same mistake, and Mi A3 may start at somewhere around Rs 16,999, or less. The company is yet to confirm anything. But the China prices hint at somewhere around 17,000. Mi A3 will work in the middle category between Redmi Note 7 Pro and Redmi K20 in India.
