Android Q is finally here, and there is intense excitement for the same. The release of Android Q was announced during the recently concluded Google I/O event.

Android Q is the 17th version of Android OS, and 10th major release.

The biggest USP of Android Q is that it can be used for foldable phones as well, and puts greater emphasis on the privacy of users.

Which Smartphones Can Have Android Q Update

As of today, there are 16 smartphones which can have Android Q update right away.

Interestingly, there is no Redmi device here.

There are different ways and methods to install the latest Android Q on these devices. It is always advisable to backup your device, before installing any new version of the OS.

How To Install Android Q on Realme 3 Pro

Before you start the download process, we will once again advise our readers to take a backup of all the data in your smartphone. In case there is an issue, and the installation fails, then the existing data will be wiped out.

Here is the process:

Step 1: Realme has made available the files required for installing Android Q in Realme 3 Pro. This is available here: https://download.c.realme.com/osupdate/P2Q.ozip. Its of 1.2 GB size.

There is a roll-back file as well, which will remove Android Q, and reinstall Android P in your Realme 3 Pro. This can be downloaded here: https://download.c.realme.com/osupdate/Q2P.zip

Step 2: Save this download file of Android Q in your phone. Now, by default will be saved into the download folder of your smartphone. Now, you will need to transfer this file into the Root Folder of the smartphone.

Step 3: Now switch off your smartphone.

Step 4: While switching on, press the Volume down + Power On button together, for 5 seconds. Once you do this, your phone will be automatically switched on with the recovery mode.

Step 5: Select the English Language, and then select ‘Install From Phone Source’.

Step 6: Now, select the download file which you have saved in the root folder, and the installation will start. It will take around 4 mins for the complete installation process.

Note here, that your battery must be 50% or above to complete the installation.

At this stage, your Realme 3 Pro has the latest, shiny Android Q OS.

Another thing to note: The ColorOS will not be accessible now, as the vanilla Android 10 has taken over your device.

Once the initial settings are done with, you can use and experience Android Q, and you can easily see the difference: For instance, the Google search bar will be visible in the bottom, and the apps can be accessed by the gesture of swiping the screen from bottom to the top.
