Airtel Unveils Rs 995 Long-Term Plan; Accepting Registrations For Samsung Galaxy S9 & S9+!
Initially, the plan will be valid for select customers in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh & Telangana, Delhi NCR and Karnataka circles.
Long-term plans are becoming more mainstream following the launch of BSNL’s Maximum yearly prepaid plan. The BSNL Rs. 999 yearly plan offers unlimited calls, SMS and data. Now Bharti Airtel has rolled out a similar long-term prepaid plan at around a similar price of Rs 995/-.
The new long-term Airtel plan comes with a validity of 180 days and offers unlimited calls (Local, STD & National Roaming) and messages. Apart from unlimited calling, the prepaid plan comes bundled with 1GB of 3G/4G data per month, which also includes free 100 SMS per day.

The Airtel Rs 995 Long-Term Plan
The Rs 995/- plan offers free voice calls with no daily or weekly FUP, and the plan is applicable on all handsets. Initially, the plan will be valid for select customers in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh & Telangana, Delhi NCR and Karnataka circles.
The Rs 995/- long-term plan offers unlimited voice calling without much data benefits. This is a plan would be very desirable to users who do lots of voice calls. On the other hand, if you are looking for a similar long-term data plan, there is none available at this price. Airtel is offering only 6GB of high-speed data (1GB per month) for the validity period. But, you can add the Rs 193/- add-on plan to get 1GB data per day for the entire 180 days unlimited validity period.
Long-Term Data Plan Vs Long-Term Voice Plan
For a long-term daily data plan, Airtel’s Rs 999/- plan comes bundled with 60GB data along with unlimited calling (local, STD & National Roaming) and messages. The plan, however, comes with half the validity of 90 days only. The Rs 999/- recharge offers 60GB of 3G/4G internet data for a period of 90 days with no FUP for usage of data. On the other hand, you get the additional benefits of unlimited voice calling with local, STD and outgoing national roaming as well as 100 texts per day.
On the contrary, the Rs 995/- long-term plan offers free unlimited voice calling, free SMS and 6GB of high-speed data (1GB per month) for the validity period. But, you can get 1GB data per day for the entire 180 days unlimited validity period with the Rs 193/- add-on pack.
Both the long-term plans offer great benefits with a combination of voice calls and data. The newly-launched Rs 995/- plan will help Airtel to take on its competitor’s long-term plans.
Jio doesn’t have a 180-day-long prepaid plan available at this price. It’s only 180-day validity plan costs Rs 1999/-.
You Can Pre-Register For Samsung Galaxy S9 & S9 Plus On Airtel Online Store
Airtel announced the official pre-registration for the recently-launched Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus via its online store. Users can visit the Airtel Online Store or install the My Airtel app to pre-register for a Galaxy S9 series smartphone.
Samsung will start accepting pre-orders in certain regions from March 2, while in India, the pre-bookings have already started. The two Galaxy S9 smartphones are up for pre-orders on Samsung India’s official website for a token amount of Rs. 2000. At the Airtel Online Store, the pre-registration will ensure an invitation to the purchase of device before others.
Samsung Galaxy S9 & S9 Plus: India Prices
As far as the pricing of S9 series is concerned, the Galaxy S9 will start at Rs 57,800/- for 64GB model and the Galaxy S9 Plus will start at Rs 64,800/- for the 64GB model in India. The 256GB versions of the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus are expected to be available at Rs 65,800/- and Rs 72,800/- respectively.
The pre-registration will be open until March 4. Airtel will then send a special invitation to the people who have pre-registered themselves, to book the Samsung Galaxy S9 or S9 Plus on the launch day.
