All Aadhaar Deadlines Extended To March 31st; Govt. Says 70 Cr Bank A/cs Linked!

There had been quite a lot of confusion related to different deadlines for Aadhaar linking with various services and schemes – It was February 26th for linking mobiles with Aadhaar; March 31st for PAN cards and December 31st for welfare schemes, insurance and others.
In a welcome step, Supreme Court has now made deadlines for all these services and schemes as March 31st, there by removing all forms of confusion and chaos.
Hence, be it your mobile-Aadhaar linking or bank account-Aadhaar; insurance or welfare schemes – The new deadline is March 31st, 2018.

The bench was hearing petitions related with Aadhaar card, and the mandatory push to link services and welfare schemes with Aadhaar.
During the hearing, the bench said,
“insofar as new bank accounts are concerned, the deadline extended, subject to the submission of the details in regard to the filing of an application for an Aadhaar.”
Newer bank accounts are required to be Aadhaar linked at the time of opening itself.
Deadline for bank account and Aadhaar linking was extended to March 31st last week.
Hence, March 31st is the only date which we all need to remember now.
Now, we hope that Supreme Court does something to stop scams related with Aadhaar linking as well.
14 Cr PAN Cards; 70 cr Bank A/cs Linked With Aadhaar
Meanwhile, UIDAI CEO Ajay Bhushan Pandey has shared some interesting insights and data into the current state of Aadhaar re-verification, which is the process of linking Aadhaar with various services and schemes.
As per latest data, out of 30 crore PAN Cards issued in India, 14 crore have already been linked with Aadhaar as of now. This means 46% of all tax payers in India are now linked with Aadhaar.
If we talk about banks, then out of 100 crore bank account active in India, 70% or 70 crore are now Aadhaar linked.
And, 119 crore Indian citizens have now Aadhaar card with them.
As per Pandey, UIDAI is right now working with various service providers, to make the process of Aadhaar linking even more simpler and easy.
