Airtel Partners With Celkon For Their Third 4G Smartphone!

Airtel is on a partnership spree! After partnering with Karbonn and Lava for low-cost 4G-enabled smartphones, Airtel today announced their partnership with Celkon for their third low-cost 4G smartphone. Airtel announced their tie-up with Celkon at an event in Hyderabad.

Both the companies will collaborate to launch a 4G smartphone which will be known as Celkon Smart 4G smartphone. It is part of Airtel’s latest initiative ‘Mera Pehla Smartphone’. Under this initiative, the telecom company plans to bring bundled, 4G VoLTE smartphones at affordable rates.

Airtel-Celkon Smart 4G Smartphone

The latest low-cost 4G VoLTE-enabled smartphone from Airtel will be available at an effective price of Rs. 1,349/-. This price is lower than Airtel’s Karbonn A40 Indian and the Airtel-Lava 4G smartphone. The Celkon Smart 4G Smartphone will come with a price of Rs. 2,849/-, out of which Rs. 1,500/- will be refunded, bringing down the effective price of the smartphone to Rs. 1,349/-.

The Refund Process

To avail of the Airtel-Celkon Smart 4G smartphone’s effective price, one needs to make 36 continuous monthly recharges of Rs. 169/-. The refund will be given in parts. The first cash refund of Rs. 500/- will be done after 18 months. The other cash refund of Rs. 1,000/- will be done after the next 18 months. These refunds bring the effective price down to Rs. 1,349/-.

Flexibility Of Recharge

If any user does not want to do the Rs. 169/- recharge, the user has the flexibility to recharge with any other plan from Airtel. Although, to be eligible for the cash refund, a user needs make cumulative recharges worth Rs. 3,000/- before 18 months to get the cash refund of Rs. 500/-, and another cumulative recharge of Rs. 3,000/-, over the second period of 18 months to claim Rs. 1,000/- cashback.

The Rs. 169/- Plan

Airtel’s exclusively tailored Rs. 169/- tariff plan for the bundled 4G handset, offers 500MB of 4G data per day and unlimited voice calling to any network and is valid for 28 days. But, he  user has the flexibility of recharging as per individual requirements, as long as they meet the minimum cumulative recharge requirement.
