Panasonic has launched their new Eluga I4 smartphone in the country. Priced at Rs. 8,290/-, the new Panasonic Eluga I4 has a secret – Arbo. It is Panasonic’s own AI Assistant, which will give users suggestions from time to time based on their usage pattern.
The handset will be sold through Panasonic brand shops and other authorized retail outlets.

How Does Arbo Work?
The all new Eluga I4 will come with an integrated with AI Assistant – ARBO. Arbo is a Virtual Artificial Intelligence Assistant developed in-house by Panasonic. It works like any other AI interface, though how well it will work, is still unknown. It will give users suggestions from time to time on the basis of their usage.

The new Eluga I4 will feature a full metal unibody build. It has been designed to offer a good one-hand user experience.

The Eluga I4 will features a 5” HD IPS display with a resolution of 720×1280 pixels and 2.5D curved glass on top for better handling.
Hardware
The device will sport a 1.25GHz quad-core MediaTek MT 6737 chipset under its hood. The processor will be clubbed with 2GB of RAM.
Software
The device will run Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box with the company’s AI Assistant, Arbo to enhance user experience.
Internal Storage
The Panasonic Eluga I4 will have 16GB of onboard storage, which can be expanded further up to 128GB.
Camera
The Eluga I4 will sport an 8 megapixel shooter at the back coupled with autofocus and other regular camera options. At the front, there is a secondary 5 megapixel shooter for selfies and video calling.
SIM Support and Connectivity
The device supports two SIMs with a dedicated slot for micro SD card. Eluga I4 supports all 4G LTE bands with VoLTE support apart from all the other standard connectivity options like Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth v4.0. It has a 3.5mm headphone jack and Micro USB port with USB OTG support.

The Eluga I4 will be powered by a 3000mAh battery which can easily run the phone for a day, with regular usage.

The Panasonic Eluga I4 will be available in three color options – Blue, Black and Gold. It has been priced at Rs. 8,290/-. Sales are already on. The Eluga I4 will be exclusively sold through Panasonic brand shops and their authorized retail outlets.
Verdict
Panasonic Eluga I4 offers nothing special other than the AI Assistant, Arbo, which is still an unknown as far as efficient working goes. At this price point, the Eluga I4 will compete against the likes of Xiaomi Redmi 4, Moto E4, Lenovo K6 Power and Samsung Galaxy J2 Pro.
With a decent display, an underpowered processor and an average camera, the Eluga I4 will have to work really hard to sell in the Indian market!
