Coolpad Cool Play 6 Launched at Rs. 14,999! Will Be An Amazon Exclusive In India
This is going to be the smartphone to beat
India is an important market for mobile manufactures from around the world. The mid-range market is especially sought after, but is brutally competitive.
It is the segment where most of the fortunes are made. Case in point, Mi smartphones. Mi doesn’t have a single smartphone costing over Rs. 25,000/- in India. Yet it has managed to become one of the top-selling brands.
With the festival season approaching fast, it is the perfect time to launch a new smartphone. With seemingly perfect timing, Coolpad, today, has launched the Coolpad Cool Play 6 smartphone at the price of Rs. 14,999/-.
Its pricing puts it right in the middle of ground zero of smartphone supremacy.
We were there at the launch and we have chronicled our journey up to the launch for your viewing pleasure.
Worthy Competitor?
The Rs. 15,000/- price point is the most competitive in the mid-range segment. The Cool Play 6 will have to fight it out with some established players like the Samsung J7(2016), Asus Zenfone 3, Moto G4 Plus and also with some new and upcoming smartphones like the LG Q6 and the Nokia 6.
Have you noticed that ‘6’ is the recurrent theme among all the newcomers? Co-incidence? We may never know. On one hand, Samsung, LG, Asus and Motorola have a proven track record; on the other, Nokia is looking riding the nostalgia wave to success.
This is the most expensive phone from Coolpad yet. It has to stand out from the crowd and prove itself worthy of people’s expectations.
For that, the Coolpad Cool Play 6, sure has some tricks up its sleeve. Along with the Snapdragon 653 octa-core processor, it packs in 6GB RAM and 64GB of built-in storage! This could prove to be the winning combination, which could help propel it ahead in a tightly run race. The cream on top will be the dual camera setup at the back.

At least on paper, it seems to be the smartphone to beat at this price point. But proof, as they say, is in the pudding. This phone deserves a comprehensive review. We will be doing one soon and we reserve our verdict till then.
Till then, all we can say is that this is the best-equipped phone out there in its price range.
Coolpad given good hardware in budget price. Nice Competition for Mi note4, Moto G5+ , Lq6.
