Now Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ Users Will Get 448 GB Data From Reliance Jio
Reliance Jio is getting hungrier for gaining market share and attracting high-end customers as time passes by. In a bid to gain more high-paying customers, the company has launched a special offer for Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ users under which the subscribers will get 448 GB 4G data over a period of 8 months.
Earlier, the company had launched Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan Offer under which the users will get up to 2 GB daily data at a nominal charge of Rs. 509 per month. It also launched a special offer for Vivo smartphone users who are following the IPL 2017 as Vivo Jio Cricket Mania offer providing up to 168 GB complimentary 4G data.
However, it is worth noting that unlike the Vivo Jio Cricket Mania offer, the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ users will not the data free of cost. They will need to recharge with Rs. 309 tariff plan under the Jio Dhan Dhana Offer. The Rs. 309 unlimited data plan offers 1 GB high-speed data/day for 28 days, amounting to 224 GB data over a period of 8 months, but Jio will offer double data benefits to Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ users translating to 448 GB data over 8 months.
Neither Jio nor Samsung announced the details of this offer at the launch of next generation “Galaxy S” smartphones. However, it would be safe to assume that the daily high-speed data would be capped at 2 GB/day, post which the speed will throttle to 128 Kbps.
Jio is subsidizing Rs. 509 plan at Rs. 309 (subsidized by Rs. 200) for Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ users. If you are a Jio user planning to order yourself either Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8+, then you will get benefited by Rs. 1,600 (Rs. 200 x 8) effectively.
This is not the first time that Jio has launched an offer specifically for Samsung smartphones. In August 2016, Jio extended the Jio Preview Offer to Samsung flagship devices first before extending it to other smartphones.
Now, Reliance Jio has started to launch special offers for select smartphones and brands (Apple, Vivo, and counting). If things go well for Jio, then it we can expect each high-end smartphone to be launched with some complementary offer from Jio.
Now let’s talk about how appealing this offer is for Galaxy S8 and S8+ users.
Considering the fact that these are not common man’s phones, I do not that think that offering a plan at a cumulative discount of Rs. 1,600 would convince any flagship smartphone buyer to switch to a new telecom operator.
They may use Jio as a second SIM for internet needs but may not port to it or buy a new connection just for the sake of getting a small discount scattered over a period of 8 months. The existing Jio users who plan to buy the S8 and S8+ will surely get benefitted with this offer, provided they wish to rely on Jio for their internet needs. If you ask me, then I would advise against it, as Jio has let me down at the times when I needed it the most.
Well, these are my thoughts about this new Jio offer for Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ smartphones. I would love to hear your thoughts about the same. So kindly post a comment.
