When Jio announced their path-breaking unlimited voice calling plans three months back, incumbent operators were in for a jolt. Either they followed suite for perished. Indian Telecom space is now seeing real repercussions of Jio plans now. Last week Airtel announced their unlimited calling plans with bundled data for a price starting Rs. 149. Idea Cellular followed with identical plans and couple of days later Vodafone did it as well!
With Big 3 operators announcing unlimited calling plans, smaller operators do have any option, but to announce plans that better, otherwise they risk erosion of their market share quickly!
Aircel, telecom operator with over 90 million mobile subscribers in India has now announced plans that are priced lower than Airtel, Idea and Vodafone – and at the same time offer more free data benefits.
Aircel made an official announcement of 2 new pre-paid plans called RC 13 and RC249, both of which offer unlimited local and STD calling across networks.
RC13 offers customers with Unlimited Local and STD calling across all networks with a validity of one day. Aircel customers will get unlimited calls from Aircel to Aircel (Local & STD) and Aircel to Others (Local & STD) and stay seamlessly connected.
RC249 is a unique product offering the benefits of unlimited calling and unlimited data with a validity of 28 days. Here, customers will get unlimited calls (Local & STD) across all networks, 500MB of 3G data and Unlimited 2G data usage. Additionally, 4G handset users will enjoy extra 1.5GB 3G data.
If you do not take Jio’s free offers into consideration, these plans are probably the best voice and data proposition in the industry.

Even after Jio ends their free offering, voice callers will prefer their plans as it is the cheapest among all. However, if they want unlimited voice calling and they are ok with slower 2G data, Aircel plans look the best!
