It is not just Jio that is contributing to the breaking news these days. I agree that Jio’s tariff plans are very attractive, but unlike other operators who are taking their own sweet time to respond to Jio, BSNL has announced a new broadband plan that offers 1 GB @ just Rs. 1!
BSNL Launches ‘Experience Unlimited Broadband 249’ Plan
BSNL has launched this unlimited broadband plan @ Rs. 249/month under a promotional scheme valid for 6 months post which the plan would be converted to ‘BBG Combo ULD 499’ plan.
Under this unlimited broadband plan, the subscribers would get the first 1 GB @ 2 Mbps, and 1 Mbps thereafter. This way the users can download over 316 GB in 30 days under ideal conditions. Considering 15% tax over the subscription cost, the users would pay Rs. 286.35 for 316 GB data.
Therefore we can say that BSNL is offering broadband data at just 91 paise/GB.
The users would also get free night calls between 9 pm to 7 am daily and free calls through the day on every Sunday.
This plan would be applicable pan-India from 9 September, 2016.
Terms & Conditions of ‘Experience Unlimited BB 249’
- Existing BSNL broadband subscribers can’t enroll for this promotional plan.
- Plan also available on FTTH with same tariff.
- Installation charges are waived off during the promotional period.
- BB 249 plan would be converted to ‘BBG Combo ULD 499’ after 6 months.
BSNL Launches Unlimited Postpaid Calling Packs For Mobile Subscribers
The state-led telecom operator launched its 3G unlimited data pack @ Rs. 1,099 a few days back, and has now launched 2 unlimited calling postpaid plans for its GSM subscribers. These packs come with unlimited voice calling and 1-5 GB of high-speed 3G data.
Both the plans offer unlimited on-net and off-net calls to any number within the country. BSNL has been offering free incoming calls during roaming for a while now, but with these packs the subscribers would also be able to make free outgoing calls during roaming.
Talking about data benefit, Rs. 1,125 plan offers 1 GB data and Rs. 1,525 plan comes with free 5 GB data.
Now that BSNL has revealed its cards for tackling the threat of Jio poaching its subscribers, we are waiting for other telecom operators to follow suit.
