The much awaited flagship from Yu Televentures, the Yu Yutopia was announced at a launch event today. Dubbed as “the most powerful phone on the planet”, the Yu Yutopia does come with some top-of-the-line specifications.
Expectedly, Yu Yutopia is Yu’s most expensive and most feature rich phone till date (and for that matter most expensive phone coming from Micromax stable as well).
Interestingly, unlike the previous phones, Yu Yutopia will NOT be sold in flash sales model. It will be an open sale and will be available on first come first serve basis, exclusively on Amazon.
Yu Yutopia is the fifth smartphone from Yu Televentures after launch of Yu Yureka, Yu Yunique, Yureka Plus and Yuphoria.
Yu Yutopia Specifications
The smartphone has a Unibody aircraft-grade aluminum casing that feels quite sturdy and strong. At 7.2mm thick, Yutopia also has a slim frame coupled with 5.2-inch QHD (1440×2560 pixels) Sharp OGS TP OGS display, with a 565 ppi pixel density.
Under the hood the handset is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 SoC (2GHz Cortex-A57 quad-core with 1.5GHz Cortex-A53 quad-core) and Adreno 430 GPU. It has 4GB RAM which is ensure that it can handle anything you throw at it.
On the storage front, the phone comes with inbuilt 32GB memory, which is expandable upto 128GB through MicroSD card.
Yu claims that Yutopia has one of the best cameras on a smartphone – It has a 21 megapixel rear Sony camera (Exmor RS IMX230 sensor) with true tone dual-LED flash. The front snapper is an 8 megapixel shooter. The rear camera has features like 4K video shooting and slow motion HD videos at 120 fps.
The dual-sim phone (Micro-SIM and nano-SIM) supports 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi and all other standard connectivity options.
On the battery front, the handset has decent 3000 mAh battery with quick charging feature that can be charged from 0 to 60% in 30 minutes.
The Yu Yutopia comes with Little Bird earphones bundled in the box, made by House of Marley.

On the software front, Yu Yutopia comes with Cyanogen 12.1 OS, which is based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. Apart from everything else, Yu announced an App called Around Yu, which is kind of discovery app which helps you find things nearby to your location like Shopping malls, Hotels etc.
The smartphone also comes with fingerprint sensor, which is now becoming kind of a default in high-end phones

Yu Yutopia will be exclusively available on Amazon and will pre-booking for the phone will start at 2PM on December 17th and the device will be shipped on 26th of December.
Yu has partnered with Airtel to offer data benefits to users. Every user will get double the data for any data pack they purchase. Interestingly, Yu has also come out with a buyback offer, where users can upgrade to next Yutopia phone and they will get minimum 40% price of the phone.
