Flipkart Offers Moto E Teaser: Available On 14th May
To say Moto G was a bumper success is an understatement. Available exclusively on Flipkart, Moto G flew off the shelf within minutes from the launch. Even Flipkart had issues handling the traffic for this much coveted phone. Then came the premium Moto X and it received mixed response, it did not sell as much as expected, even with some aggressive push from Flipkart.
Now, Motorola will be launching Moto E in India, the budget smartphone which will be priced below Rs. 10k. This time too, like it’s predecessors, it will be available exclusively on Flipkart. They have even sent out a teaser on multiple channels, including Facebook and Twitter. The teaser does not name the phone, but it is quite clear that it will be Moto E (there is no other phone in Motorola stable that is expected to launch)
Here is the Flipkart teaser.
From the teaser it is quite clear as to who are the targeted audience. Moto E is targeted at first time smartphone users, who will be graduating from a feature phone. Lets look at Moto E phone a bit detail.
Moto E Specifications
Given that it is a budget phone, the specifications are average. Moto E has a 4.3 inch screen having 256 ppi pixel density. Armed with dual-core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon processor, it has 1GB ram memory, 4GB internal storage that can be expanded upto 32GB using a microSD card. On connectivity front, it has 3G, Wifi, Bluetooth and all other regular connectivity options.
As far as the camera goes, it has a 5 megapixel rear shooter. However, it does not seem to have a front camera at all (a real surprise).
What is nice to see is that it has a 1980 mAh battery, that should easily last more than a day on moderate usage on a 4.3 inch screen.
The best part is, it comes with latest Android OS version – KitKat 4.4.2 with minimum of customizations.
The phone is expected to come in colorful shells, just like it’s predecessors Moto G and Moto X.
Moto E Price & Availability
No official confirmation on price is given. However, given the specifications, we thing Moto E should not be priced over Rs. 8,000. We expect the price to be between Rs. 7k to Rs. 8k!
The Moto E is expected to be officially launched at a May 13 event in London. In all likelihood, Indian users should be able to order Moto E from Flipkart from May 14th onwards.
If priced below Rs. 8k, Moto E should definitely be an attractive option for first time smartphone buyers.
