Online food delivery platform Swiggy has introduced the ‘Swiggy Seal’ in 650 Indian cities to raise hygiene and food quality standards among its restaurant partners. Launched initially in Pune, the initiative will expand to other cities in November. This move is part of Swiggy’s ongoing effort to ensure customers receive meals that are not only delicious but also safe and hygienic.

What Is Swiggy Seal, Launched Across 650 Cities By Swiggy

What is the ‘Swiggy Seal’?

The ‘Swiggy Seal’ badge will appear on the restaurant menu pages within the Swiggy app. It highlights restaurants that have demonstrated a proven track record of serving hygienic, high-quality meals with premium packaging. These standards are maintained through customer feedback and professional hygiene audits, ensuring transparency and trust for customers ordering food online.

Restaurants that qualify for the ‘Swiggy Seal’ undergo rigorous audits, customer reviews, and continuous monitoring. If any complaints arise, Swiggy promises a thorough review process and may revoke the badge if standards are not maintained. This program offers restaurants comprehensive support to ensure they maintain these high standards.

Leveraging Customer Feedback

Swiggy will use its base of 7 million verified customers to gather reviews of restaurants over the past six months. This feedback will be shared with restaurant partners to help them identify areas of improvement, particularly in key areas such as cooking methods, contamination prevention, and packaging quality. This collaborative approach encourages restaurants to maintain high food safety and hygiene standards.

Collaboration with FSSAI-Accredited Agencies

Swiggy is also collaborating with professional hygiene audit firms such as Equinox and Eurofins, which are accredited with the Food Safety Standards and Authority of India (FSSAI). These partnerships will provide Swiggy’s restaurant partners with access to hygiene audits at exclusive rates, helping them maintain their eligibility for the ‘Swiggy Seal’.

Conclusion

The ‘Swiggy Seal’ is a crucial step in improving food safety and customer confidence. By offering insight, feedback, and professional audits, Swiggy ensures that restaurant partners meet the highest hygiene and food quality standards, giving customers peace of mind with every meal they order.
