Vistara, the full-service carrier, recently faced significant disruptions in its operations, leading to numerous flight cancellations. The airline’s pilots had raised concerns about the new contract, which would result in pay revisions. More than 150 flights from Vistara has been cancelled, as pilots refused to fly over the pending demands.
Despite this, CEO Vinod Kannan expressed optimism about stabilizing operations by the weekend.
It seems that the issue has been resolved, at least, as per Vistara management.
Pilot Contract Concerns Addressed
Amidst operational challenges, Vistara addressed concerns regarding its new pilot contracts, and have informed that while some pilots had reservations, over 98% have now signed the new agreement.
As per Vistara, regular flights will resume by this weekend.
The airline is actively engaging with pilots to resolve any remaining queries or issues, demonstrating a commitment to fostering a positive working relationship.
Resilience Amidst Challenges
Facing crew shortages and operational disruptions, Vistara is actively hiring more pilots and scaling back operations slightly to provide resilience. Kannan noted the importance of this approach in ensuring a buffer in the rosters to tackle future challenges effectively.
Note here, that in case flights are cancelled due to pilots reporting sick, there is very little chance of getting a refund.
