Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has launched a new hiring tier called “Prime” as part of its 2024 campus recruitment strategy. Offering salaries between Rs 9 lakh and Rs 11 lakh, Prime aims to attract top talent to meet the company’s growing technological demands. The initiative complements existing categories like Ninja and Digital, promoting upward mobility within TCS.

TCS Offering Rs 9 Lakh Salary To Freshers Under Prime Program: 9 Facts You Should Know

Here are 9 interesting facts about TCS Prime

1. Introduction of Prime Category
TCS, India’s largest IT services company, has introduced a new hiring tier called “Prime” to attract top graduates from campuses. The Prime category will offer higher compensation compared to traditional entry-level positions, positioning TCS as an attractive choice for high-potential candidates.

2. Attractive Compensation Packages
Freshers hired under the Prime category will receive annual salaries between Rs 9 lakh and Rs 11 lakh, a significant jump from the Rs 3.6 lakh and Rs 7 lakh packages offered under the Ninja and Digital categories. This makes the Prime category a lucrative option for graduates.

3. Addressing Recruitment Challenges
One major reason for launching Prime is to counter competition from other companies offering “dream” job categories. TCS hopes to reduce the number of candidates opting out of its hiring process by offering competitive salaries and ensuring graduates commit to the company.

4. Securing Top Talent Amid Technological Advancements
The demand for top-tier talent is driven by rapid technological advancements. TCS is particularly focused on hiring individuals skilled in programming, coding, and emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Generative AI, and machine learning, which are key to its business growth.

5. Expansion of Prime Category
The Prime category expands TCS’s recruitment approach, offering higher compensation across all business units, rather than limiting it to research and product verticals. This is the first time Prime has been formally extended to top-tier institutes.

6. Previous Recruitment Tiers
TCS had earlier introduced two categories—Ninja and Digital—with annual compensation of Rs 3.6 lakh and Rs 7 lakh, respectively. The Prime category builds on this strategy to attract even more skilled graduates by offering significantly higher salaries.

7. Bulk Hiring and Prime’s Impact
Despite the introduction of Prime, the Ninja category will continue to dominate bulk hiring. However, Digital and Prime hires have seen positive results, with the proportion of recruits in these categories increasing steadily over the past four years.

8. Plans for the 2024-25 Fiscal Year
TCS plans to recruit 40,000 fresh graduates in the 2024-25 fiscal year. Recruits in the Prime and Digital categories typically require less training and demonstrate higher productivity, aligning with TCS’s goal to stay ahead in the fast-evolving tech landscape.

9. Upward Mobility for Ninja Hires
TCS ensures upward mobility for all hires, including those starting in the Ninja category. The company evaluates performance post-training to identify potential candidates for promotions to higher tiers like Digital and Prime.

TCS’s introduction of the Prime category underscores its commitment to attracting top-tier talent and staying competitive in the rapidly evolving tech world. By offering attractive compensation packages and promoting mobility, TCS is well-positioned to build a strong, future-ready workforce.
