SpiceJet Pilots Will Get Rs 7.5 Lakh/Month Salary For 75 Hours Of Flying

SpiceJet has recently made an announcement regarding a significant salary increase for its captains. The Gurugram-based airline revealed that captains will now receive a monthly salary of ₹7.5 lakh for 75 hours of flying, effective from May 16, 2023. This salary hike also applies to trainers (DE, TRI) and first officers, with their salaries adjusted accordingly.

Revision in the Salary for Captains by SpiceJet

Previously, in November, the airline had already revised the pilots’ salaries, raising the monthly salary for captains to ₹7 lakh for 80 hours of flying. Furthermore, SpiceJet has introduced a tenure-linked monthly loyalty reward for captains, offering an additional amount of up to ₹1,00,000 per month on top of their regular remuneration.

Chairman Ajay Singh informed the employees that SpiceJet has initiated the process of bringing back its grounded planes using the USD 50 million funds obtained from the ECLGS scheme and internal cash accruals. Mr. Singh encouraged the employees to maintain their commitment to providing the highest standards of service, as the company looks forward to more promising years ahead.

SpiceJet currently operates approximately 250 daily flights to 48 destinations within India and international locations. Its fleet consists of various aircraft types, including Boeing 737 Max, Boeing 700, and Q400s.

It was in the May of 2005 that the airline operated its first flight.
