After a month-long protest, Samsung India workers at the Sriperumbudur factory have called off their strike and will resume work in batches starting March 8. The decision follows communication from the company confirming that employees can return for training sessions. However, disciplinary action against 23 suspended workers remains a point of contention.

Strike Called Off After Company’s Assurance
CITU state president A Soundararajan announced that the strike withdrawal was based on Samsung’s official communication, allowing workers to rejoin in phases from March 8. Individual return notices will be sent to employees.
However, the company has reportedly issued a warning, urging employees not to engage in illegal activities in the future. It also acknowledged receiving an email from the workers on March 6, indicating their willingness to end the strike by March 7.
Suspended Workers Face Disciplinary Action
Despite the resolution, Samsung is set to initiate disciplinary proceedings against the 23 suspended members of the CITU-backed Samsung India Thozilalargal Sangam, who had been at the center of the protests.
